S0615 Marx and Nietzsche
Through a reading of Marx and Nietzsche\'s basic writings, we will
examine two of the most innovative programs for philosophy in the
nineteenth century. Both considered themselves beyond the tradition from
which they came and yet both were shaped by that very tradition. We will
be particularly interested in examining their respective notions of
critique as well as the way they addressed the relationship between
philosophy and life.
