Introduction to the conference A seminar in preparation of the conference is organized on Wednesday, October 5
room 9A, 5-6.30pm
With:
Maartje van Gelder, professor of Early Modern History at the University of Amsterdam and Coordinator of the Amsterdam Center of Urban History. She is author of Trading Places. The Netherlandish Merchants in Early Modern Venice, Brill 2009;
Claire Judde de Larivière, professor of History at the University of Toulouse and Honorary research fellow at Birkbeck, University of London. She is author of La révolte des boules de neige. Murano face à Venise, 1511, Fayard, Paris 2014.
The aim of the seminar is to introduce the late medieval and early modern Venetian society, in order to present the questions and problems that will be discussed during the conference of Friday 7 October.
This lecture is part of the co-curricular activities of Prof. Pes’ course on History of Venice, all students and professors are welcome to join the seminar. More details in our Students blog
