Water and Globalization

Coordinator Carlo Giupponi, Università Ca' Foscari Venezia

The event is aimed at introducing international students at Ca' Foscari and VIU to one of the most important, but often neglected, issues of globalisation and sustainable development: the management, preservation and valorisation of water resources. The date is quite significant because on the 22 March 2013 the United Nations celebrate the World Water Day, within the International Year of Cooperation. The morning will be dedicated to introductory lectures on the topic of water and globalisation and presentations of case studies of international cooperation for development in the water sector.

This initiative is organised in collaboration with University Ca' Foscari and the network of Italian universities for cooperation and development, launched in 2008 by the Cooperation Division at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
