Course for Sustainability - Year 2013

The 2013 Course for Sustainability took place from September 29 to October 6 and it is titled "Course for Sustainability – Western Balkans and Turkey".

As the previous ones, also this edition of the Course for Sustainability was developed with the support of the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea jointly by the Thematic Environmental Network Center of VIU (TEN), the Regional Environmental Center (REC), Agroinnova - University of Turin and the Bogazici University, which joined the course partnership this year.

The Course involved 30 participants from Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, FRY of Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Serbia, Turkey, Palestine, Jordan and United Arab. Although the participants came from different background, they were all engaged in introducing the principles of Sustainability, in its various aspects, into policy making. They were civil servants of local government bodies, experts from different organizations operating at local level as well as representatives of non-governmental organisations.

The programme, defined on the basis of the fruitful experience of last year, was designed to prepare local communities to be resilient in the face of crisis. Several themes were scheduled in the agenda through lecturing sessions, workshops and discussions.
