Refricold “Web portal” and “Service and survey center” (2006)

Topics like access to business services through a web portal and creation of a knowledge repository as a common source have been thoroughly investigated since 2004 within the Air-Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration District, by means of a close collaboration amongst the natural hubs of the territory, Refricold, Sapi and Unindustria Padova.

Particularly - exploiting the great opportunity of the Veneto Region law 8/2003 on Production Clusters - these themes and the underlying ideas gave the possibility to the District to formulate two different projects whose aim is to empower the air-conditioning and industrial refrigeration sector in the area of Padua and all over the Veneto region, through the implementation of glocal supply chain communication tools and the creation of a front-line for bespoke services.
Shall these issues be deeply implemented, a wider support to continuous targeted training and research planning is being realised, therefore leading to increasing innovation processes within SMEs and the territory.

Venice International University has been involved in the two projects as consultant for the following activities:

  • Web Portal project
Companies’ needs analysis, process design and project management of district portal services implementation. Support in the launch of the community of practice, that will then naturally feed the inside-out and outside-in dialogues.

  • Service and survey center project
District’s needs analysis, modelling of the survey and of related – virtual and desk - support services for SMEs, local public administration and stakeholders. The in-depth cluster and market analysis, as much as the scenario thinking perspective will generate a strong base for competencies, business process, products and know-how development, and, finally, stimulate supply chain integration.
The project website will be available soon at www.refricold.it
