Globalization Program, Fall 2015 pre-registration opens

Pre-registration for the Fall 2015 semester opens April 29.

Over 100 students from all over the world will take courses on Italy, Cultures of the World and Global Challenges in the 15-week program.

The specialization track on Economics, Management and Digital Technologies applied to Cultural Heritage gives students with a background in the Humanities the opportunity to acquire skills that will be useful in developing careers in this field, training among others in creative leadership strategies for cultural organizations, digital tools for the humanities, or studying art and architecture in Venice and UNESCO world heritage sites. There will also be other excellent opportunities for students interested in the relationship and comparison between Asian and European cultures, but also intercultural exchange. Additional courses will be proposed, based on common principles of research through parallelisms and complementarities, such as Sport, Culture and Society or National Borders in the Age of Trans-nationalism. The courses are interdisciplinary and are structured as seminars so as to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among students from different academic and cultural backgrounds.

The full course listing for Fall 2015 term is now available, descriptions and syllabi will soon be updated.

Through the Mobility Program the best students will be selected for internship opportunities abroad (eg. MOCA Shanghai, IPEA Brazil, Bilgi University) and in Italy (eg. Peggy Guggenheim Museum, La Biennale, M9 museum, Musei Civici di Venezia, Italian National Research Council). Internships are supported by scholarships.

All students registered in degree programs at one of VIU's thirteen Member Universities are eligible to apply for the Globalization Program. Courses are recognized for credit by the students' home universities. All students must pre-register via the VIU website after having submitted their application to the study abroad office of their home universities. Students from Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, Università Iuav di Venezia and Università degli Studi di Padova can pre-register directly on VIU website.

Registration for courses will open on July 6 and will close on September 9, 2015.
