Internships & Mobility: what’s going on...

VIU promotes international mobility by providing internship opportunities and scholarships to students of the member universities who attend the Globalization Program.

The VIU selection committee is currently interviewing the students who applied for the Research Internships and Mobility Program during the Fall 2014 term: there are 10 candidates competing to carry out research for their final master’s thesis through the international mobility channels offered by VIU; while 16 candidates applied for an internship in one of the agreed host institutions in Italy.

VIU intern students: where are they now around the world?
We have not forgotten them...they are just a few thousand miles away, carrying out research for their final Master’s thesis in one of VIU’s member universities or affiliated institutions!

Gabriella Cirese (a student from Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, now at Tongji University), Francesco Corrò (Università Iuav Venezia, now in Bangkok, Thailand), Catia Squarcia (Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, now at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet of Munich): all these students after attending the Spring 2014 semester at VIU were awarded scholarships and are presently enjoying an international internship opportunity to pursue research in themes related to the Globalization Program.
Meanwhile Giulia De Zotti, an Electrical Engineering student at Università degli Studi di Padova, is now completing her research project in Tsinghua University, Beijing thanks to the Maria Weber scholarship: since it was established in 2010, this award has been given annually to a student from the Globalization Program, applying during the Spring term for the international mobility program, for the best thesis proposal on a theme related to China.
