Concert-lectures in San Servolo: Fall 2014

Among the events promoted by VIU-School of Humanities and Social Sciences and open to the public, Venice International University invites friends of VIU faculty, students and staff to brief a cycle of two concerts offered by Associazione Musicale “Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari” & “Il Contrappunto Veneziano”.

First meeting on Wednesday, October 22 with Anna Lazzarini, who will talk about Jazz in 20th century classical music, followed by a piano performance by Ezio & Anna Lazzarini of two beautiful pieces illustrating the creative potential of encounters between these two music genders: the Ebony concert by Igor Stravinsky and the Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin.

Second meeting: November 5, Anna Lazzarini will talk about the genesis and meaning of The Adoration of the Earth and The Sacrifice, the two parts of the ballet “The Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinsky, played on piano four hand by Ezio & Anna Lazzarini.
