Globalization Program: Fall 2014 registration open

Registration for the Fall 2014 semester opens July, 7. Over 100 students from all over the world will take courses on Italy, Cultures of the World and Global Challenges in the 15-week program.

Besides core courses, the Fall 2014 term will focus on Economics, Management and Digital Technologies applied to Cultural Heritage. This specialization track will give students with a background in the Humanities the opportunity to acquire skills that will be useful in developing careers in this field. There will also be other excellent opportunities for students interested in art and architecture in Venice, intercultural exchange, but also identity, heritage and globalization. Additional courses will be proposed, based on common principles of research through parallelisms and complementarities, such as Comparative History or Fashion and Modernity. The courses are interdisciplinary and are structured as seminars so as to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among students from different academic and cultural backgrounds.

Through the Mobility Program the best students will be selected for internship opportunities abroad (e.g. MOCA Shanghai, IPEA Brazil, Bilgi University) and in Italy (e.g. Peggy Guggenheim Museum, La Biennale, M9 museum, Musei Civici di Venezia, Italian National Research Council). Internships are supported by scholarships.

All students registered in degree programs at one of VIU's thirteen Member Universities are eligible to apply for the Globalization Program. Courses are recognized for credit by the students' home universities. All students must pre-register via the on-line application form after having submitted their application to the study abroad office of their home universities; students from Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, Università IUAV di Venezia and Università degli Studi di Padova can pre-register directly.

Registrations open on July, 7 and close September 11, 2014.
