Chinese Ministry of Environment Training on Water Pollution

On September 8, a delegation of 32 policy makers selected from the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP) arrived in Italy to attend a 12-days Training course focused on Water Pollution Prevention and Control.
In the last years, MEP has shown great interest for Training courses on Environmental Monitoring, but since 2007 this is the first time that an entire course is dedicated to the specific issue of Water Pollution.
The increasing contamination of the water bodies is a constant concern, and the topic is worth being addressed as much as Air Pollution as it seriously affects the health of human population and the integrity of natural environments.
The Training agenda offers an overview on the Legislation for water pollution control at European and Italian level, and presents several case studies on Water quality assessment, Water basin management and Water pollution treatment, both at local level and on a wider scale.
MEP participants have the opportunity to visit some Water treatment facilities and to discuss actions taken to ensure the protection of human health and of the environment at large.

Further details can be found in the training course agenda at the Sustainable Development Community website.
