The course is intended as a part of the Cultural Heritage programme, focused on Venice, its rich cultural and artistic history in modern and contemporary times. It aims to go beyond traditional and chronological limits in the way of depicting Venice, that corresponds to a long series of stereotype ". Organisation and supervision The course is organized around modules. Each module has a special focus on some case study. In order to enhance a direct knowledge of the city and its architectural masterpieces, we shall organize some field trips at the end of each module. They will be related to the main case studies. Teaching and Evaluation Method Students are expected to do the required readings and to attend class regularly. Attendance is compulsory for everybody. Required readings will be designated on a weekly basis according to the themes listed in the course outline.
