"Venetian Rule in the Eastern Mediterranean" International Workshop

Venice International University and Archivio di Stato di Venezia (ASVe) organize a week-end of debates on “Venetian Rule in the Eastern Mediterranean 1400-1700. Empires, Connections and Environments”.

Professors from international universities will participate in a relay of thematic presentations, animating a round table on the domination and influences of the Serenissima Repubblica through the Mediterranean area.

The “Venetian citizenship”, gifts and commercial exchanges, navigation laws and migration flows are some of the themes explored in the international workshop, organized in honor of Prof. Benjamin Arbel, Tel Aviv University, and former professor of VIU.

VIU will host a series of conferences on Friday, 10 July 2015 from 10am to 6pm.
