Shakespeare in Venice Summer School. The Shylock Project

​Venice International University is cooperating with the Shakespeare in Venice Summer School which has been arranged by The Study Centre for Documentary Research into European Theatre and Opera to commemorate the ​400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death and 500 years of the Ghetto of Venice.

 

Internationally renowned researchers will explore the text and context of The Merchant of Venice during a rich four-week programme of lectures and workshops, music and theatre performances, as well as field visits to the Venetian Ghetto and other relevant venues in Venice.

 

VIU will host the following conferences:
