Closing Ceremony of the Spring 2015 Term - May 28

The Spring 2015 term of the Globalization Program closes on Thursday, 28 May 2015.

Since February 2015, 140 students representing 20 different nationalities throughout America, Asia, Africa and Europe have been attending courses taught by professors from VIU's member universities. Following the semester the best students will be able to avail of interesting internship opportunities.

The Closing Ceremony will be held at 5.00 pm in Aula Magna (room 1-E). Friends of VIU faculty, students and staff are welcome to join the event.

The program will be as follows:
- Opening Remarks, Prof. Agar Brugiavini, Dean of Venice International University and Prof. Luca Pes, Assistant Dean and Director of VIU School of Humanities and Social Sciences
- Round table of professors and students about one of Venice main and discussed topics, the “Grandi Navi” protest: environmental, social and economic damages and benefits of the passage of "big cruiseships" through the lagoon
- Awards for Academic Excellence, selected by the Spring 2015 faculty
- Award of Scholarships for internships in Italy
- Video testimonials made by the students of the course of Italian for Foreigners – intermediate and upper-intermediate levels.

A farewell reception will follow.

VIU staff invites all participants to bring musical instruments, songs, games and specialties from their own countries! A theme for the reception will be soon unveiled.
