Lecture-concerts at VIU, Spring 2015 |
The “Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari” & “Il Contrappunto Veneziano” musical associations will offer a brief cycle of two concerts at VIU, among the events of the co-curricular program of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and also open to the public.
First meeting on Wednesday, March 4 with Anna Lazzarini, who will talk about Jazz in 20th century classical music, followed by a piano performance by Ezio & Anna Lazzarini of two beautiful pieces illustrating the creative potential of encounters between these two music genres: the Ebony concert by Igor Stravinsky and the Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin.
Second meeting: April 1, Anna Lazzarini will talk about the genesis and meaning of The Adoration of the Earth and The Sacrifice, the two parts of the ballet “The Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinsky, interpreted on four hands by pianists Ezio & Anna Lazzarini.
