The Fall 2014 term of the Globalization Program closes on Thursday, 18 December 2014.

Since September 2014, 134 students of 23 different nationalities throughout America, Asia and Europe have been attending courses taught by professors from VIU's member universities. Following the semester the best students will be able to avail of interesting internship opportunities.

The Closing Ceremony will be held at 5.00 pm in Auditorium. Friends of VIU faculty, students and staff are welcome to join the event.

The program will be as follows:
- Opening Remarks, Prof. Agar Brugiavini, Dean of Venice International University and Prof. Luca Pes, Director of VIU's School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Awards for Academic Excellence, selected by the Fall 2014 faculty.
- Award of Scholarships for internships in Italy.
A farewell reception in collaboration with Collegio Internazionale Ca’ Foscari will follow.

The results of the Fall 2014 photo competition will also be announced.
Students can submit their entries for one or more categories, until December 1:
1. Venice in Everyday Life: What is really different in Venice, beyond the obvious, compared to other cities in the world? You will have to focus of what living in Venice means and on how students and inhabitants of Venice cope with the difficult situations that arise everyday (transport, massive tourism, bridges, pigeons, high water, etc.). How do you see Venice outside the tourist-routes? Is it possible to capture the true soul of Venice in a single frame?
2. Academic Life@VIU: How would you narrate the experience of studying at Venice International University? Focus on the unique multicultural experience of joining students and professors of different nationalities and studying challenging courses. Show us your perspectives on VIU academic life.
3. Multicultural life inside & outside VIU: What happens during the co-curricular activities? What about your evenings together? And about your trips across Italy and Europe? Because travelling is the greatest way to get to know the others.
