Visualizing Venice - summer 2014 Digital Workshop

From 3 to 13 June 2014, eighteen Master's students, Ph.D and Post Doctoral scholars in the Interpretive Humanities will attend the third edition of the intensive summer workshop on digital visualization technologies, promoted by VIU jointly with Duke University and Università IUAV di Venezia, with the participation of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, Venice (Italy).
Full scholarships are available for all participants, thanks to The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation generous support.

The aim of the workshop is to train scholars in how new technologies can be integrated with the study of historical and material culture, in particular modeling change over time in urban space and the production of maps and low-cost photogrammetry. A range of advanced visualization tools such as 3D modeling, visualization, and mapping technologies will be taught focusing on the topic of Venice and its islands, providing the opportunities for site visits and on-site data acquisition.

Faculty: Caterina Balletti - Università Iuav di Venezia, Isabella di Lenardo - Università Iuav di Venezia, Victoria Szabo - Duke University
Director of VIU digital laboratory activities: Caroline Bruzelius.
