Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Training on Clean Energy and Climate Change

On November 24, a delegation of 41 participants selected by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) arrived in Italy to attend a 12-day training course on Clean Energy and Climate Change. The course is the second of the "2013-2014 Cooperation Program" between VIU and CASS and brings in a new topic among those traditionally addressed by this Chinese institution.

Renewable energies and energy efficiency are two main tools to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change and will be therefore extensively discussed during the course. Policy tools and case studies from energy efficiency applications will be presented, in order to show to the Chinese participants practical examples of both efficient energy generation and utilization. All main renewable energy sources will be presented, providing a comprehensive overview of their diffusion and future development. New technologies available on the market will be another central aspect of the course presentations.

Further details can be found in the training course agenda at the Sustainable Development Community website.
