Higher Education and Climate Change: Awareness, Access and Knowledge sharing across EU and non-EU programs

The University of Ca' Foscari, in collaboration with Venice International University, organizes the final conference of the three years project LEAN CC, "Linking European, African Asian Academic Networks on Climate Change" financed by the ERASMUS MUNDUS programme.


The international conference presents the project initiatives in terms of connecting higher education institutions in South East Asia, South Africa and Europe as well as the results and conclusions from workshops and seminars, on-line courses and platforms. Selected speakers are invited to create a dialogue on Climate Change Higher Education exploring needs in terms of expertise and leadership for climate change education and/or responses in terms of academic collaborations on climate change related disciplines among Europe, Africa and Asia.


Venice International University will present the experience of the Sino-Italian Advanced Training Program, as a successful example in promoting higher education networks on Climate Change with China and in particular among Governmental and non-academic institutions. VIU also presents the results of the EU project funded CLIMA – Euro-Asian research and training in Climate change Management which produced the materials for an on-line Master on Climate Change which was partially used by LEAN project.
