Spring 2013 Closing Ceremony

The Spring Semester of the Globalization Program closes on Thursday May 30, 2013.

Over 100 students from America, Asia, Europe and Oceania have been attending courses taught by distinguished professors from VIU's member universities since February. Following the semester the top students will be able to avail of interesting internship opportunities related to sustainable development, which was the focus of the semester.


The ceremony will be held at 4.00 pm and the program will be as follows:
  • Opening Remarks, Prof. Agar Brugiavini, Dean of Venice International University and Prof. Luca Pes, Director of VIU's School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Awards for Academic Excellence, selected by the Spring 2013 faculty
  • Award of Scholarships for internships in Italy in the field of Sustainable Development
  • Award of Maria Weber Scholarship, to a student whose Master's thesis project focuses on China)

The awards will be followed by a piano four hands performance by Ezio and Anna Lazzarini of the Wolf-Ferrari music association. The Wolf-Ferrari association arranges a series of concerts and lectures at VIU each semester for students and faculty.
