Countdown to the Fall 2016 term: Orientation Week highlights

The Fall 2016 semester of the Globalization Program begins on Monday, 5 September 2016.

 

Over 100 students from Europe, America and Asia will choose among a range of courses on Italy, Cultures of the World, Global Challenges and Economics, Management And Digital Technologies Applied To Cultural Heritage (specialization track of the fall term), taught by distinguished professors from VIU's member universities.

 

The Program, developed in the truly multicultural, international and interdisciplinary VIU environment, provides a powerful learning experience in which students cultivate their capacity for critical thinking and problem solving. They will be thus better prepared to face the present global challenges.

 

The program starts on September 5 and ends with the exam week on December 16. Academic calendar

 

Orientation week: September 5-9. Not-to-miss moments for students:

  • Monday, September 5:
  • Welcome Coffee, VIU Facilities Tour, Introduction to the Globalization Program and Course Presentations

  • Tuesday, September 6:
  • meeting on residency permit procedures with Non-EU

  • Wednesday, September 7:
  • Opening Ceremony and Italian for Foreigners Placement Test

  • Thursday, September 8:
  • VIU Global Fair, a melting pot afternoon to promote the meeting and exchange of cultures through talks, typical objects or food brought by students, professors and SHSS staff.

  • From Monday 5 to Wednesday 7, room 2G:
  • a couple of hours dedicated to Tutoring Desk, a Q&A with the VIU staff on study plans, registration problems, courses, accommodation on/off campus, credit recognition.

Registration for courses will close on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 5 pm Italian time. Final registration status and admission petitions will follow. Registration procedures are reminded here.
