VIU alumna awarded prize for her Master's thesis

Diletta Pegoraro (VIU, Spring 2013) is the 2015 recipient of the Manlio Masi Foundation award.

 

This prize is awarded every year by the Leonardo Committee to a recent graduate who has developed a thesis on a topic related to the success of the Made in Italy brand in the sectors of fashion, nautical design, renewable energy, mechanical engineering and enhancement of cultural heritage, which have always distinguished Italy around the world.

 

Diletta Pegoraro will be awarded her prize on March 7, 2016 at the Quirinal Palace, during the Leonardo Prizes awards ceremony in the presence of the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella.

 

Diletta attended the Spring 2013 semester at VIU and qualified for VIU'S Internships and Mobility program, receiving a scholarship to carry out research for her thesis at Duke University’s Center of Globalization, Governance and Competitiveness, under the direction of Prof. Gary Gereffi. While there, she developed her Master's thesis entitled  “Denim revival: evidence from Italy and United States – A global value chain approach”.
