Lecture concerts at VIU, Fall 2015

The “Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari” & “Il Contrappunto Veneziano” musical associations will offer a brief cycle of two concerts at VIU, among the events of the co-curricular program of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and also open to the public.

First meeting on Wednesday, November 11 about

Venice lagoon and gastronomy. A source of musical inspiration in XX century music,

with a performance by Ezio & Anna Lazzarini, piano four-hands. Anna Lazzarini will introduce the concert with a lecture on the story behind the lives of the composers or the pieces proposed, and which evoke tight links with Venice and its culture, accompanied by a photographic slideshow and music interludes by Maestro Lazzarini on the piano.

Second meeting: Tuesday, December 15, Anna Lazzarini will talk about

Music in the Shadow of War,

proposing pieces by J.S. Bach, Igor Stravinsky, and Nino Rota, interpreted on four hands by pianists Ezio & Anna Lazzarini.

VIU is pleased to invite friends of faculty, students and staff to the lecture-concerts
at 5 pm, room 1-G, Venice International University, Isola di San Servolo.
