International mobility testimonials: Museum Accessibility platform

Thanks to a VIU international mobility scholarship, Stefania Zardini Lacedelli, student in Economics and Management of the Arts at Ca’ Foscari University attending VIU Fall 2013 semester, carried out an internship at Duke University, Dept. of Art History and Visual Studies. During her placement abroad, Stefania developed her research thesis “MAPS - Museum Accessibility platform” with prof. Victoria Szabo.

Starting with the creation of a blog, MQUADRO Development (www.isismapping.org/stefania), a sort of journal recording the project's development along with bibliographic and external references, Stefania studied and designed multimedia interactive contents to enhance the fruition experience of museum visitors.
Access to Duke University’s resources in cooperation with local and international researchers fostered  processes of peer to peer learning and created a basis for future collaborations.

This research project together with Stefania’s interest in new technologies applied to cultural heritage has now given rise to an interactive educational platform on the website of the Italian museum complex Musei delle Regole, Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno, Italy). The MQUADRO platform will be inaugurated at Museo di Arte Moderna Mario Rimoldi di Cortina d’Ampezzo on Saturday, 30 August 2014.
