Opening "The World of Han Meilin" Exhibition in Venice |
200 works are on display in the courtyards and halls of the main Palace of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, from October 28, 2016 to February 28, 2017.
Inauguration on 27 October 2016, with the participation of the curators, VIU President Umberto Vattani and Prof. Zhao Li, the Ambassador of the P.R. of China – Wei Ding, the Rector of University of Venice Ca' Foscari – Prof. Michele Bugliesi, and Maestro Han Meilin. Han Meilin, who was designated "UNESCO Artist for Peace" in 2015, is a hugely prolific artist known internationally for his design of the Air China logo and for the mascottes of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
This exhibition is the first leg of the "Han Meilin’s world tour". The chief curator of the Venice show is Ambassador Umberto Vattani, President of Venice International University - VIU - and President of the China-Italy Dialogue Association - CID, co-organizers of the exhibition.
